Modern World History

You are a foreign diplomat and you have to make a 5 minute presentation/briefing on your country. During this briefing, you will present facts, visuals, and answer questions from other foreign leaders.  The world is in your hands - Good Luck!

Directions: You will research and create the following separate items for the conference. Place the items in a folder in the order outlined below. Check off items as you complete them and hand in the checklist at the front of the folder.



Modern World requirements- U.N. country report

1. Checklist- with each item you have finished marked.
     included at the front of the folder

2. Fact Sheet (no more than two type written pages) - Print 2 copies
    official language(s) and religion(s)
     capital city, and the name of the largest city
     population (based on what year?)
     what are the major imports and exports?
     list the major rivers, lakes, and mountains
     day of independence (or equivalent) involving who?
     2 key people/leaders and 2 key historic events (brief explanation)
     how far is your country’s capitol from San Francisco? (in miles)

3. Flag - 8” x 10” (Make - no Internet)
     type written explanation of the design/colors (See Flags of the World Book)
 

4. Modern Problems (no more than two type written pages)
    Identify and summarize one major current problem in your country (e.g. like human rights,
     the environment, population control, pollution, deforestation, animal rights, AIDS, etc.)
     Make recommendations and/or solutions to the problem
